This course will focus on what you will need to know about PowerChart, Message Centre and Centricity at LHSC and St. Joseph's. You will be able to view patient demographic information, find and trend lab results, view reports, customized patient lists, and much more.
Advanced Clinical Notes is a new method to type your clinical documents directly into PowerChart. This course will show you how to choose the correct patient, attach the correct document to the patient, insert information from the flowsheet into your clinical note and add/include more information into the final document. Further, you will be able to electronically authenticate your document without having to go to Message Centre.
All Professional Staff and Residents are invited to attend the Professional Staff Organization General Meetings. General meetings feature guest speakers on a variety of "hot" topics. A light working dinner is provided. The next General Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 20, 2010 and the topic is "The Role of the Physician in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety". HOSPITAL/UWO ORIENTATION
This orientation is designed to orientate new residents and clinical fellows starting with the hospital and UWO through out various points of the year. Another orientation will be arranged for individuals starting July 1 and will not be required to register online.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support is a requirement for your hospital appointment. This is a full 2-day course. If you already are ACLS certified, please be sure to send a copy to Medical Affairs Fax: (519) 667-6844.
Please note: The cost of this course is only covered for new Residents and Fellows new to LHSC and St. Joseph's who do not have current certification. All others wishing to take this course will be required to pay for the course in the amount of $275.00.

BUS TOUR
Come see the sites of London’s hospital's. This is a fun tour providing wonderful information on the hospitals and London!
Every new Resident and Clinical Fellow must book an appointment with Occupational Health, prior to July 1st. Individuals who start with the hospital after July 1st will be provided with further information in regards to their Health Review in their Hospital Application package.
Medical Affairs in association with the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC), the Professional Staff Organization (PSO) and Lawson Health Research will host an orientation breakfast four times a year. These sessions have the support of the Medical Advisory Committee and as such, attendance is mandatory. A PowerChart and Centricity training session will follow after the breakfast from 8:00 am – 10:00 am
All new Professional Staff (PS) new to LHSC and St. Joseph's are required to attend each of these sessions. The purpose of these sessions are to provide information, support and assistance to newly hired Professional Staff so they can be aware of, and understand the structures, policies and procedures that will help them make a successful transition to LHSC and St. Joseph’s.
