The Career Development and Planning (CDP) process provides a forum for professional staff/clinical faculty and medical leaders to have a regular career discussion. Developed jointly by the London Health Sciences Centre, St. Joseph's Healthcare, London and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, the CDP recognizes all dimensions of the Professional Staff member's role; clinical, teaching, research and administration.
The objectives of the CDP process are to:
Facilitate a bi-directional, balanced discussion of individual accomplishments, strengths and learning needs in the areas of clinical, teaching, research and administrative work
Identify and clarify career goals and personal plans for the next period (in each of the areas of clinical, teaching, research and administration that are appropriate for the individual)
Identify challenges that may impact goals
Identify plans for self-development
