Each MAC establishes a Medical Advisory Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is chaired by the MAC Chairs. The role of the Executive Committee is generally to plan the meetings of the MAC in order to optimize the committee member's time and skills, facilitate communication between the Professional Staff and the hospital and perform the role of the MAC in matters of administrative urgency.
Membership of the Executive Committee include the MAC Chair, the President and Vice President of the Professional Staff Organization, the Immediate Past Chair of MAC and three members of the MAC appointed by the MAC. Ex-officio members of the MAC are the same individuals as on the MAC.
The Executive Committees from LHSC and St. Joseph's meet jointly approximately 2 weeks in advance of the monthly MAC meetings. Click here to view the 2010-11 meeting schedule.
The specific duties and responsibilities of the MAC Executive Committees are in the LHSC Professional Staff By-Laws and the St. Joseph's Professional Staff By-Laws.
