Pagers are the property of the hospital and are provided to Residents through their Department to support patient care.
Residents/Clinical Fellows and Professional Staff have an obligation to return their pager to their Department during leave of absences (LOA) when the physician is not involved in patient care and does not have departmental/hospital duties.
Commonly Used Pocket Paging Features (City-Wide), click here.
Note: The hospitals do not support the use of non-hospital pagers. Switchboard operators will only process pages to hospital -leased pagers.
Text paging is not a secure form of communication. Staff and affiliates must not include identifiable patient information, or other confidential information, in text pages. Exclude any confidential information -- for example, full patient names or specific details about a patient -- from your message.
Remember that all pager messages and pager logs are property of the hospital, may be reviewed and monitored and are subject to disclosure during litigation proceedings.
