The Professional Association of Internes and Residents of Ontario (PAIRO):
PAIRO represents all medical doctors who are internes and residents in Ontario. Internes and residents have a unique role as students, employees, teachers and providers in the health care system. PAIRO seeks to protect and improve the current and future rights, interests and well-being of members.
The hospitals and University work collaboratively with PAIRO to facilitate a successful training period.
The RRC has representation from the hospitals' city-wide Medical Affairs department, the LHSC Chief of Staff, the Integrated Vice President Medical Education & Medical Affairs, the Post Graduate Education Office, the Internationally Sponsored Residents, and the local PAIRO council. The committee meets once very six weeks to share information, discuss issues of importance to residents and to get input from residents to hospital initiatives. Resident representatives communicate back to the resident population. An RRC resident member is invited to attend joint meetings of the hospitals' Medical Advisory Committee (MAC).
