London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London
continue to work together as we plan and build world class health
care facilities and services. We have already led the way in integrating
services and sharing resources. Our ongoing fundraising efforts
have already brought in hundreds of millions of dollars from the
public sector and our community. Now, with the onset of the largest
construction project in London’s history, we are poised to take
bold new steps toward implementing our vision for London hospitals.
The vision for London hospitals is not about new buildings; it
is about providing our physicians and staff with the tools they
need to give patients the best possible care. Toward that end, much
is changing. Emergency services will consolidate in expanded facilities
at Victoria and University Campuses. A new tower will rise at the
corner of Commissioners and Wellington roads and the tired facilities
at South Street will finally close. St. Joseph’s Hospital will become
the focal point for ambulatory care and day surgery in the city.
City-wide rehabilitation services have centralized at the redeveloped
Parkwood Hospital.
The road ahead is challenging but full of promise. At the end of
this journey, we will set a standard of health care excellence that
will endure for generations to come.
